A dome ticket for sold-out dates

This is a ticket, not a tour: a timed slot on Brunelleschi's dome plus the 3-day pass for the other monuments, sent to your phone the evening before, with an audio app instead of a guide. Book it for one reason, when the Opera's own calendar shows no slots for your dates.

Dome Climb Ticket and 3-Day Duomo Pass

About this experience

Walks in town sells you what the Opera sells as the Brunelleschi Pass: a fixed slot on the dome and three calendar days for the Baptistery, the Opera museum and the cathedral, entered through the crypt instead of the free public queue. Through 31 December 2026 the bell tower and Santa Reparata are in too. The official tickets come by WhatsApp, iMessage or email the evening before, and an audio guide app replaces a person.

The price is the issue. The official Brunelleschi Pass costs 30 euros, and this listing starts at $90, close to three times as much. A 5-star reviewer called out the markup. What the extra buys is availability: resellers hold slots, and guests report finding them here when the official calendar was sold out a month ahead. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before is the other perk, since official tickets can't be changed or refunded.

Two warnings from reviews. Your Viator voucher is not the entry ticket; you need the official pass sent the evening before, and one guest had to phone the operator to find it in WhatsApp. Most of the critical reviews are about communication like this. If you can get an official slot, buy it there. If you'd like a person to explain the complex first, the guided version from the same operator adds two hours of guiding to the same climb.

  • A held dome slot when the official calendar shows grey zeros
  • Three days for the Baptistery, the museum and the cathedral via the crypt entrance
  • Bell tower and Santa Reparata included on visits through 2026
  • Audio guide app, tickets sent to your phone
  • Free cancellation up to 24 hours, unlike official tickets

How the day runs

  1. Evening beforeDownload the official tickets

They arrive by WhatsApp, iMessage or email. Save the PDF or QR codes offline; the Viator voucher won't open the gates.

  2. Before your slotDrop your bag

Backpacks and luggage are refused on the dome. Use the free storage at Piazza del Duomo 38R, then queue at the Porta della Mandorla on the north side 10 minutes early.

  3. About 1 hourClimb the dome

463 steps, a first wider landing at about 150, the gallery under the Last Judgment fresco, then the lantern terrace.

  4. Same dayCathedral through the crypt

Enter the cathedral via the Santa Reparata entrance instead of the public queue, Monday to Saturday.

  5. Days 2 and 3Museum, Baptistery, bell tower

One entry each, at your own pace. The museum closes on the first Tuesday of the month; the bell tower closes 9 to 13 November 2026.

What guests say

★★★★★

The Doumo walk is a lot of stairs, be prepared. Entrance via the crypt avoiding the long cathedral lines. Lovely fresco in the dome tho dramatic scenes. Well worth viewing as you go up the stairs.

There are 463 steps and it is rather narrow, with stairs sometimes spiral, sometimes landing. There is a first wider landing at 150 steps. [...] The dome is very beautiful and the view once outside is REALLY worth it.

I'd recommend that buyers print the tickets and also e-mail and/or screenshot them for the follow up visits....the link through TripAdvisor "expires" after the first use or at the end of the scheduled climb day.

[...] the price was quite a markup (double) from the direct museum pricing. None of those tickets were available to the retail customer a month out - so I used this service. Book early and directly and you will save a lot of money.

Tips before you book

  • Check the official ticket shop first. If your slot is there, book it and keep the difference.
  • Screenshot every ticket. A guest found the link expired after the first use.
  • Take an early slot in summer. The dome opens at 8:15 on weekdays and the stairwells heat up fast.
  • Skip the free cathedral queue: your pass lets you in through the crypt entrance.
  • Sunday slots run only from 12:45 to 16:30, and the cathedral itself is closed to visitors that day.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as the official Brunelleschi Pass?

Close. You get a timed dome slot and three days for the Baptistery, the museum, Santa Reparata and the bell tower, plus cathedral entry through the crypt. The listing says visits from 1 January 2027 no longer include the bell tower and Santa Reparata. The official pass costs 30 euros.

Why pay $90 instead of 30 euros?

For availability and flexibility. Resellers hold slots that can still be free when the official calendar is sold out, and you can cancel up to 24 hours before. Official tickets can't be changed or refunded.

Is there a guide?

No. You get an audio guide app and climb on your own. Even the Opera's 50 euro dome tour sends you up alone after a talk at the base. Read our dome climb guide before you go.

How do I get my tickets?

Walks in town sends the official tickets the evening before by WhatsApp, iMessage or email. Download them before you arrive; the Viator voucher alone won't get you in.
